GCNMS at the 6th Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Conference in Malta

In September 2024, GCNMS participated in the 6th Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Conference in Malta. The event brought together healthcare professionals and researchers to explore global nursing and midwifery challenges post-pandemic. Presenters were encouraged to “show the way” they are tackling issues such as improving health outcomes, achieving universal health coverage, disaster preparedness, climate change mitigation, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

GCNMS’s presentation highlighted its core goals: capacity building, collaboration, transparency, and the belief that research is essential for solving workforce challenges. It showcased the consortium’s ongoing work supporting global nurses and midwives and shared insights from international partnerships.

The conference provided an invaluable platform to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and demonstrate how GCNMS’s work continues to make an impact.

Stay tuned for more updates on our collaborations and take a look at the photos below of Maria Cassar, PhD, RN delivering a fantastic presentation! Shout out to Maria and team for all your hard work!
